Join the Los Angeles World Affairs Council & Town Hall on Wednesday, January 15th for a discussion with Heather Williams, Senior Policy Advisor at RAND, to the recent events in Iraq, including the killing of IRGC General Qasem Soleimani, the response of the Iraqi Parliament, and the increased US military presence being sent to the region.

Heather Williams is a senior policy researcher at the RAND Corporation and associate director of the Strategy, Policy, and Operations Program within the Homeland Security Operational Analysis Center. She focuses on homeland security, Middle East regional issues, and intelligence policy and methodology. She joined RAND from the National Intelligence Council, where she served as the deputy national intelligence officer for Iran and the acting national intelligence officer for Iran. Williams was previously a Senior Intelligence Analyst in the Iran Division of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), responsible for DIA???s analysis on Iranian decision-making, internal stability, nuclear intent, foreign policy, and support for terrorism. She also served as a counterterrorism targeter for the Special Operations Intelligence Center, as well as a Field Intelligence Officer for the Transportation Security Administration.
