Volunteering

VOLUNTEERING

???How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because some day in life you will have been all of these. George Washington Carver

??

Since our inception, Town Hall Members have counted volunteerism among their many joys. For decades, the Town Hall Volunteer Corps of Members have helped Community Partners throughout the region. There are opportunities for Members to volunteer at our events and often we notify members of volunteering efforts and programs in the city.

??

If you???re not a member but looking to get more involved with your community, we also have a program whereby volunteers assist us at our offices in the creation, research and promotion of events. The volunteer should have an interest in civic issues, marketing or event planning, and be computer and social media proficient. They also help us welcome guests and conduct registration at events.

??

Volunteers research provides the briefing packets for the American Heritage Student Program, as well as identifying key constituents, and organizing media outreach and membership relations.

??

Volunteers must be comfortable with learning protocol, database applications, archiving and well-balanced research, be proficient with Microsoft Office, and have strong written and verbal English communication skills. We ask for a minimum weekly commitment of 10 hours on Monday-Thursday. Volunteer hours are from 9.30 AM - 5.30 PM.

Volunteering at Town Hall presents a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on one of the city???s oldest speaker forums.
