Looking Back to Move Forward

I ask the same question every year at this time: "How did it get to be December 1". And every year I do the same thing that every magazine, radio and TV program does - I look back. What did we do this year? Did we move forward? Did any of the things get done that seemed so important to do?

WELCOME TO THE NEW TOWN HALL WEB SITE!

When the web site had a catastrophic failure this year, we saw an opportunity to serve our members better, to make changes that reduce organizational costs and increase speed and security. Thanks to a grant from The Ahmanson Foundation, these improvements were made and we hope you will help us as we continue to expand its new features.

One of the new features of the web site is a new Members login and event pricing function.  It will no longer be confusing about which price is which; if you are a current member you’ll only see member prices. To see Member prices, you must first login as a member or you'll only get public rates on the payment page. If you are an active Member of Town Hall, we created an account for you.

Your User ID is the email to which we send alerts and confirmations. Enter that in the top box of the LogIn on the home page. Your temporary password is “Democracy,” and goes in the bottom box. We suggest you change your password once you login.

Each event page now contains a map to the venue, a button to add the event to your iCal or Outlook calendars, and links to follow us on social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

As no web site is ever complete, you’ll see new features soon like a Member’s blog, surveys and files from our archives. Today, you can register for events, put events in your calendar, renew membership, donate to the American Heritage Program or link to our local public radio show TOWN HALL Journal on 89.3FM KPCC.

Please have fun exploring and trying out the site. We need your feedback and help testing it.

If you have any issues, please contact Chamara Russo at 213.312.9460 or [email protected].

Thank you for your continued support!
