Los Angeles, CA ??" Monday, October 29, 2007 ??" TOWN HALL LOS ANGELES welcomes Tom Brokaw, Author of ???Boom! Voices of the Sixties: Personal Reflections on the 60???s and Today in conversation with ABC???s Judy Muller on Monday, November 12, 2007 at Temple Emanuel, as part of TOWN HALL???s Writers Bloc series, lively chats with celebrated authors.

 

Brokaw, the author of three bestsellers, gives an epic portrait of a defining era in America as he brings to life the tumultuous 60???s in ???Boom! The voices and stories of famous people and ordinary citizens come together as Brokaw explores how individual lives and the national mindset were affected by the controversial era.

 

Brokaw began his journalism career in Omaha and Atlanta before joining NBC News in 1966. He was the White House correspondent for NBC News during Watergate, and from 1976 to 1981 he anchored ???Today on NBC. This appearance marks Brokaw???s fourth before Town Hall.

 

Muller joined ABC News in 1990 and has since covered such stories as the trial of Rodney King and the subsequent 1992 Los Angeles riots, the 1994 Los Angeles earthquake and the OJ Simpson case. She is also the author of ???Now This???Radio, Television and the Real World.???

 

Throughout its 70 year history, TOWN HALL has hosted discussions with notable authors such as Carl Sagan, Ray Bradbury and Gore Vidal. This fall, TOWN HALL???s Writer???s Bloc welcomed Richard Russo, author of ???Bridge of Sighs and the Pulitzer Prize-winner ???Empire Falls, and public radio???s Garrison Keillor.
