Los Angeles, CA ??" Tuesday, October 9, 2007 ??" TOWN HALL LOS ANGELES welcomes Dave O???Reilly, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Chevron Corporation, on Thursday, October 25, 2007. O???Reilly will deliver his address ???Securing California???s Energy Future at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. Angelenos have the opportunity to ask O???Reilly about California???s growing energy needs and how Chevron is meeting the demand.

 

Addressing the implications of future energy demands, O???Reilly suggests, ???To sustain economic growth ??" which has raised the quality of life for millions of people around the world ??" we need to develop reliable, affordable supplies of energy in every potential form. On California???s energy future, O???Reilly says, ???California, increasingly, is at the end of the pipeline when it comes to energy supplies.

 

O???Reilly was elected to his current position on January 1, 2000. He began his career with Chevron Research Co. in Richmond, California as a process engineer.

 

Chevron has been doing business in California for nearly 130 years. It is the second largest integrated energy company in the United States, operates in some 180 countries, and employs 58,000 people worldwide. Chevron will spend approximately $2.5 billion on alternatives, renewables, and energy efficiency between 2007 and 2009.
