Los Angeles, CA ??" Thursday, October 4, 2007 ??" TOWN HALL LOS ANGELES welcomes Ken Follett, Author, ???World Without End in conversation with Eric Jager on Friday, October 19, 2007, as part of TOWN HALL???s Writers Bloc. Los Angeles literati can ask Follett about his work.

 

Follett first emerged as an author in 1978 and has since sold approximately 90 million books worldwide. Two of his books have been made into miniseries and ???Eye of the Needle was made into a feature film. His most recent book, ???World Without End, is set in 14th century England and is centered on the building of a cathedral. Infused with mystery, love, betrayal, family strife and cataclysmic disaster, it is the sequel to his book ???The Pillars of the Earth published in 1989.

 

Jager is a Professor of English at the University of California, Los Angeles. Specializing in Anglo-Saxon literature, he is the author of ???The Last Duel, a true crime story about a rape, scandal, trial and duel staged before King Charles VI in 1387 France.

 

Throughout its 70-year history, TOWN HALL has hosted discussions with notable authors such as Carl Sagan, Ray Bradbury and Gore Vidal. This fall, TOWN HALL???s Writer???s Bloc welcomed Garrison Keillor, Author, ???Pontoon??? and host of ???A Prairie Home Companion.
