AUSTIN BEUTNER TO FOCUS ON JOBS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH AT LA’S COMMUNITY FORUM TOWN HALL LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles, CA – Thursday, January 5, 2011 – Los Angeles City mayoral candidate Austin Beutner will deliver his first public address on job creation and economic development “Los Angeles: Back to Work,” to Town Hall Los Angeles on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy in downtown Los Angeles. Angelenos will have an opportunity to pose questions directly to Beutner during the Town Hall audience Q&A session.
Beutner’s speech to the nonpartisan Town Hall Los Angeles will address building jobs for Angelenos: “It will take new ideas, real world experience and proven leadership to put Los Angeles back to work," said Beutner. Angelenos will elect their next mayor on March 5, 2013.
Beutner served as Los Angeles First Deputy Mayor and Chief Executive for Economic and Business Policy from January 2010 until April 2011, overseeing 13 city departments, including the LA Convention Center, Port of Los Angeles, and Los Angeles World Airports. Formerly, Beutner was a partner at The Blackstone Group and a co-founder of Evercore Partners.
Beutner’s community involvement includes Chairman of the Board of Trustees for CalArts, Chairman of the Board of the Broad Stage, and Chairman of the Governor’s Council on Sports & Physical Fitness.
