POLITICAL AUTHOR MICHAEL KINSLEY DISCUSSES HIS NEW BOOK WITH SLATE???S MICKEY KAUS

Los Angeles, CA ??" Wednesday, April 16, 2008 ??" Michael Kinsley, author of ???Please Don???t Remain Calm: Provocations and Commentaries, will speak with Mickey Kaus, journalist and political commentator, on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at UCLA???s James Bridges Theater as a part of TOWN HALL???s ongoing Writers Bloc series.

 

???Please Don???t Remain Calm is a collection of articles and editorials written by Kinsley, describing the mistakes and disasters of our time. The book examines the important people and political moves that have led to the country???s financial, social, and military problems. Kinsley also comments on religion and popular culture.

 

Currently a columnist for TIME, Kinsley has served as an editor for The New Republic, Harper???s, and Slate. He has also written for The Economist and The New Yorker. Kinsley co-hosts CNN???s Crossfire with Pat Buchanan.

 

Kaus is best known for Kausfiles, his political blog on Slate.com. He has written for Newsweek, The New Republic, and Washington Monthly. He also launched a political video blog, Bloggingheads.tv, to discuss current events with other commentators.

 

Throughout its 70 year history, TOWN HALL has hosted discussions with notable authors such as Carl Sagan, Ray Bradbury and Gore Vidal. This year, TOWN HALL???s Writer???s Bloc welcomed comedian and author, Steve Martin, political commentator E.J. Dionne, and will welcome back Gore Vidal on June 24.
