Nicolas Berggruen is founder and chairman of the Berggruen Institute, the non-partisan think tank planning its new headquarters in Los Angeles, designed by Herzog & de Meuron. Berggruen is the co-author of “Intelligent Governance for the 21st Century” and is co-publisher of TheWorldPost. As chairman, he fosters the study and design of systems of good governance suited for the 21st century. Berggruen seeks to find and reward those philosophical, sociological, and technological ideas that have the capacity to shape the future for the better through projects like the annual Berggruen Prize for Philosophy & Culture.
