On July 22, 2014, Bert Valdman, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, Edison International provided the audience at Town Hall Los Angeles "A Glimpse Into Our Energy Future," replacing Ted Craver, Chairman, President and CEO, who was unable to speak that day. Valdman explained that Edison utilities invest in infrastructure and do not profit from selling electricity. Edison International's goals for the grid of the future are to make the system more sustainable, accurate, and automated.
